Wedding At Cantacuzino Castle

A mystical land filled with castle magic and the lightness of modern fairytales Wedding Styled Shoot created by Destination Wedding Romania!

Remember, you are the one who can fill the world with sunshine whispered like in a fairytale, and this is what we believe at Destination Wedding in Romania.

Our team was focused on finding a different approach to the traditional “wedding in a castle” scenario.

We wanted to bring a touch of lightness and subtle elegance rather than indulging in the typical sumptuous castle wedding!

The aim was to offer a refreshing option to the soon-to-be newlyweds that are in search of creating their own magic.

For all queens and kings of hearts, there are special places that can project you in a dreamland, as if you would be jumping straight into the pages of a novel,  beyond classical and much-advertised destinations, there are places that can simply transcend your event.

Our event specialists at Destination Wedding Romania, Elena and Andreea, with their passion for travel and the endless quest for intimacy and elegance, scouted around Romania and beyond, in the search for those authentic places where unique celebrations can be created.

For this wedding, they ladies choose Cantacuzino Castle, set at the foot of the mystical The Carpathian Mountains, in a rural Romania that still recalls the medieval charms.

A great example of the Neo-Romanian style, mixing Byzantine, late Italian Renaissance, Oriental and local rustic elements, the castle stands as a witness of the Belle Epoque, ready to become animated on special occasions.

Sculpted oak doors, stained glass windows, fireplaces decorated with mosaic and gold foils, are all there to set the tone for a lavish event.

And all this beauty is enriched by lush and imposing nature of the mountains.

“No wonder that Cantacuzino Palace was our option for this wedding event!”

The serene panoramic view from the main balcony made us to instantly fall in love with this venue.

We thought: what can be more romantic than celebrating your love surrounded by majestic mountains, in a 1900 castle?”

The focus point of the shooting was the balcony of the castle, with view on Caraiman peak.

In notes of pink and burgundy, with hints of green, and copper, the styling calls for poetry and the abundance of autumn, the stone columns have been dressed in floral arrangements, to resonate with the landscape and create that out-of- fairytale frame for the couple.

There is a certain sense of fluidity, and a touch of art nouveau thrill: the floral ornaments of the bridal dress and the delicate pearl hair accessories call for a relaxed charm with a vintage touch; in other words, just like the invitation says: “nothing fancy, just love”

“The inspiration behind the colour theme was to show that a castle wedding doesn’t necessarily have to be dark and classic.

Our photographer Ioana Porav, along with our talented florist Elena Bodea (LasFloristas) did an amazing job brightening up the castle with bold colours and soft lights.

“We share a love for rich, vibrant colours and it was fun to incorporate them in a sophisticated and romantic venue.” Andreea shares with us.

The couple are professional ballet dancers so their elegance and expression are calling for the creative spirit, that naturally unfolds in all love stories, and it fits just right with the concept.

“Our goal was to inspire brides who would love a castle wedding but aren’t sure if it’s the right fit for them, or if they can afford it.”

The raw beauty of a castle can also be used in your favour to help you reduce costs,” explains Elena.

The ladies from Destination Wedding Romania love to embark in projects that create an authentic space for celebrations resonating with their clients’ sensibility and lust for novelty, and they are passionate about bringing new ideas on the vision board in order to create contemporary fairytales.
