The best Lomography Lens it’s my old Minolta and I love it!
I hope you are having a lovely day as I am! This weekend it’s expected to be a very warm one here in London so I can’t wait for it as I got few shoots to do and that would be brilliant!
Today post it’s about a gift my husband made for me! And it’s one of the amazing ones!
Since I become a professional photographer and even before that, I always had an attraction for lomography. I mean those blurry circular moving backgrounds in photographs! But I didn’t knew how to achieve the lomography effect straight from the camera! I only knew how to manipulate them in Alien Skin software!
After I did some research and discovered some talented photographers and it was like a revelation for me. I finally understood how to create those photographs and what would be the best lomography lens for me.
Because we did some investment into the Sony A7Rii and the FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS just before to find out about the Petzval lenses, we were not able to invest in lenses anymore, at least for the moment.
So my super stellar clever husband of mine Vasile Porav who is the most talented photographer and filmmaker, had hacked me one of our old manual lenses, in this case was the Minolta 50mm f 1.7
I honestly love this hacked lomography Minolta lens, I personally think it’s the best lomography lens for me!
Why? Because it’s a small lens, it has manual so I can play nicely with the focus and I do not have to insert aperture rings like Petzval lens requires ant that means I can work faster!
Besides it looks wonderful on my Sony A7Rii!
Here it’s the final test results I have done in that day!
Have a look on that background! I just love it! Yes, I am really proud of my husband!
I hope this would help you out and give you some inspiration that everything it’s possible in photography!
You just need to want it and find the right methods for you to do it!
All the best,
